Last week Lue came to stay while his hu-mom gave a paper at Harvard – he was so proud of her! He basically thinks our house is an extension of his, and vice versa, so it didn’t take long for him to settle right in.
Of course, hu-mom (aka “the warden” in pug-speak) is very strict with him – in a very loving way, in case you’re worried). He is not encouraged to roam around the house freely – who knows what mischief he might get up to in terms of establishing his presence, if you know what I mean… So his place is on his bed or on a lap – he’s pretty happy with either one as long as he can survey the scene and make sure he’s not missing out on treats.
It was raining, again, but that didn’t stop hu-mom. Out we went, in our rain gear. The walk began at pug speed. Snail’s pace. Stop at every tree – or just in the middle of the sidewalk for no apparent reason. Hu-mom actually commented that she was noticing things in the neighbourhood that she had never seen before! However, it didn’t take long for Lue to get his trot on, and from that point on we travelled at a more natural lab speed. Lue can really hustle when he wants (mainly when we are heading home! He’s like a horse going back to the barn.)
Here’s Lue doing his Pug Yoda expression.
At home there was much nuzzling and frolicking. Lue knows what I like!
Watch – see what I mean?
All in all, we had a lovely time… but I think it really wore Lue out…
